Some people will balk at what I'm trying to say. The various sex offenders lists (by state) in the US list people who have committed statutory rape as well as real rape. The problem I have with people being branded this way is that the age of consensual sex isn't universal — not by a long shot.

Over the years, life insurance companies have been increasing the payout amounts of the different kinds of life insurance plans. Before you sign up for that million dollar life insurance plan, you have to examine your needs and your financial situation.

While I'm going to share my budget with you, to a degree, you can take some of my experience for what it's worth. I've been living in the Philippines for more than 2 1/2 years, so my monthly budget is fairly stable.

No, I'm not homosexual. Not even in the vaguest sense of the word. The term "homosexual tendencies" doesn't apply to me or anyone in my family. So far, only one of my relatives, a nephew on my wife's side, has identified himself as homosexual. On my main blog, I wrote provocative articles in the past concerning my thoughts about homosexuality and certain situations, but I won't be doing that anymore. I'll go over these thoughts here, away from that blog, because that blog isn't really designed for controversy.

I'm removing two of the old posts from my main blog, Untwisted Vortex, and rewriting the information, in order to present my thoughts in a more coherent manner. You see, racism still exists in America when it should be all but wiped out.

I'm not going to get all preachy here. I'm not a big believer in everything the "good book" has to offer, even though there are some stories worth reading. They teach us valuable lessons about life that we don't fully appreciate until we experience them for ourselves. This Christmas time, I've personally witnessed the value of at least one of the stories and I'm about to share that with you.

I was called by the Holy One himself on January 8, 2001. I declined to be minister for one simple reason: If I can't understand His book in its entirety, then how can I possibly explain anything from it to anyone else. You may ask me how I know it was Him that called me. To the average person, I'd probably respond with something like "You can ask." Since you're taking the time to read this, I'll explain everything to the best of my ability.

I'm a few days behind. I received the Google Alert for this news item on the 9th. Arnel Pineda arrived at the Manila airport on the evening of October 8th and the video of it was broadcast on the 9th. The webcast is at "Journey frontman Arnel Pineda back in RP, to do local concerts (video)", but you can view it here through the magic of embedding:

I have the Revelation album with me here in the Philippines, even though it isn't being sold here. I mentioned that my wife would be bringing it with her on her Philippines vacation when I wrote Arnel Pineda's success story and she did.

Leave it to my son (Joseph), who's with his Air Force wife in Germany, to tell me about something that happened here in the Philippines. Arnel Pineda from The Zoo, a local cover band, was recently "discovered" by Journey after months of music videos appearing on YouTube. I never spotted him before or I'm sure I would've seen this coming.
