I'm a few days behind. I received the Google Alert for this news item on the 9th. Arnel Pineda arrived at the Manila airport on the evening of October 8th and the video of it was broadcast on the 9th. I have the Revelation album with me here in the Philippines, even though it isn't being sold here. I mentioned that my wife would be bringing it with her on her Philippines vacation when I wrote Arnel Pineda's success story and she did.
Leave it to my son (Joseph), who's with his Air Force wife in Germany, to tell me about something that happened here in the Philippines. Arnel Pineda from The Zoo, a local cover band, was recently "discovered" by Journey after months of music videos appearing on YouTube. I never spotted him before or I'm sure I would've seen this coming.
After experimenting with multiple blogs, I've reduced the number of blogs I maintained. I've moved selected articles from Untwisted Vortex (my main and oldest blog) and articles from four other blogs I decided to kill off.
I only moved two articles from the first blog about Arnel Pineda. The rest were, well, nothing but fluff and not worth moving. They were placed in the "Arnel Pineda and Journey" category.
I moved everything from a blog of email jokes another geared toward fart jokes. I couldn't find any more fart jokes that weren't better off being placed with the email jokes, so I knew the second blog was going to die long before I decided to move the articles. Both groups of articles were placed in the "Email Jokes and Other Humor" category.
The last blog I moved articles from was a blog about Postum. I only kept part of them and got rid of the other articles I considered nothing but fluff. They were placed in the "Post is Not Coffee" category.
All four of the blogs were going nowhere really, really fast by themselves. By incorporating them into this blog, which is a kind of "catch all" blog, perhaps I'll be able to make it worthwhile for people to stop by and read.
